The Equipment Guys were proud to be the equipment sponsor of the OSU Football Camp “Friday Night Lights” on July 28.
The Ohio State coaching staff hosted this event for high-school players in 10th – 12th grades. Although any player could pay to attend this camp, certain big-name recruits were invited. New head coach Urban Meyer had used the camp at Florida as a way to stand out from what other universities offer. It was held to give campers a game-like atmosphere in the stadium.
The players progressed through drills in their position groups, beginning with individual speed and agility work and progressing to one-on-one drills. There also were weightlifting sessions underneath the east stands. We brought in 2 Stray Dog Strength Double Sided Half racks and a TAD Body Weight Jungle.
The campers were put into groups of 15 and the OSU coaching staff moved them around in 10 minute weight training sessions that included weighted dips on the TAD Body Weight rack & bench press on our Stray Dog Double Sided Half Racks.
The night ended with a drill called “smokehouse” in which position groups raced the 40-yard dash. Winners were handed a megaphone to announce their name and high school.
Best of Luck to all the campers who attended!
